When applying filters to reports, sometimes you may be presented with the ‘No values available’ message when there should be a list of options to choose from (e.g. departments, locations, divisions etc).
Detailed overview of the issue
If you are building your report and configuring filters:
Only to find when clicking the funnel icon to see a list of options, there aren’t any. Instead, the screen says ‘No values available’:
Why does this happen?
It is triggered occasionally by the combination of filters using a pre-defined date format, and a List format. There is a solution for this.
Solution
Follow the below steps to rectify this issue:
- Select filters at the top
- Select the filter where options aren't appearing
- Select value list selection
- Cached values on demand
- Refresh now on values cached (should go from 0 to a different number)
You should now find when returning to your filters, that the List options are all present.
