For: Superusers
What you’ll achieve
Enable selected users to access the Create a job template option in Add a Job.
I want to:
- Allow selected users to create job templates
- Control which users can access the Create a job template option
- Manage job template permissions through security roles
Enable job template creation
Important notes before you begin - The permission to create job templates is disabled by default after deployment. - Only users with this permission enabled in their security role will see the option in Jobs > Add a Job. - You must have access to manage Security Roles.
- Go to Settings > Security Roles.
- Open the relevant security role.
- Navigate to the Create/Update Job section.
- Enable Allow to create job templates.
- Select Save.

Users assigned to this role will now see Create a job template in Jobs > Add a Job.
How it works
When enabled:
- Users can create reusable job templates using the dedicated option.
- Templates are automatically saved with the status Template.
- Standard job posting and approval rules still apply when creating live jobs from templates.
When disabled:
- The Create a job template option is hidden.
- Users cannot access the feature via direct URL.
Best practice
- Enable this permission for Superusers or central recruitment teams responsible for maintaining templates.
- Avoid enabling it for hiring managers unless they are responsible for template governance.
- Review template ownership and access regularly to maintain consistency across departments.
FAQs
Why can’t I see the Create a job template option?
Your security role may not have the permission enabled. Contact your Superuser or system administrator.
Does this change who can edit existing templates?
No. Access to edit or manage templates continues to be governed by existing job permissions within the security role.
