How to delete an application status

1. Go to Settings > General Settings > Candidate Application Statuses

2. Click on the Application Status that you wish to remove.

The status record will open and a number will appear in the top left to indicate how many applicants are currently at that status


Any statuses displayed in red are linked to a System Customisation core status.  Before you can delete these statuses, you must first re-configure System Customisation to link the core status to an alternative status - see How to Link Statuses in System Customisation.


3. Toggle off Visible to System Users so that it is disabled (the status will no longer be available when changing a candidate status). 


When an Application Status is set to 'not visible', it doesn’t affect candidates currently assigned to that status. Instead, it prevents users from assigning any candidates to that status in the future.  This can be useful for phasing out outdated statuses without disrupting reporting data.


4. If you are certain that an application status will not be needed in the future and can be permanently deleted; click Delete Status in the top right.



When an Application Status is deleted, it doesn’t affect candidates currently assigned to that status. Instead, it prevents users from assigning any candidates to that status in the future.


5. At the bottom right, click Save

I can’t delete a status – the button isn’t available

Any statuses displayed with a red background are linked to a System Customisation core status.  Before you can delete these statuses, you must first re-configure System Customisation to link the core status to an alternative status - see How to Link Statuses in System Customisation.


Can I restrict who has access to this functionality?

Yes. As with most areas of Jobtrain, this functionality can be restricted to Security Roles within Settings.
